What people are saying:

“I liked how they paid so much attention and helped me get way better at my shots. And the African drumming and games were awesome.” –Levi, age 12

“KidsAfrik is the BEST SOCCER CAMP EVER! Plus, the food is really good!” –Justice, age 9

“I am happy for my children to be in a culturally enriching setting while getting some one-on-one skills training along with a whole lot of exercise and fun. The coaching team is top-rate–challenging and supportive. Thanks for a consistently great experience!”

“My son has been to several soccer and basketball camps and I was beginning to think that camps just weren’t his thing. They were never good experiences and it turned into weeklong frustration to get him to go. …This is by far the best camp he has ever been to! He has learned so much already and looks forward to each day. I think it’s a combination of the small group/individual attention, the types of skills he is learning, as well as the personalities and teaching styles of the coaches.”

“This program has been amazing in the progress my daughter is making each week. She absolutely loves it.”

“Alex really loved the camp. You know it’s going well when, after playing soccer all day, he comes home and begs me to play soccer with him in the yard. He counts the camp as the best camp experience he’s had of all the camps he’s gone to. It was also such a treat to have lunch provided.”

Thank you all for an incredible soccer season!

We are super proud of all the great players, coaches, and parent-volunteers who gave us such a successful season, even with all the rain!

This year’s preschoolers and kindergarteners were amazingly focused and progressed so much in one season–we are excited to see what is to come from these young players!

Travel tryouts showed a particularly impressive group of incoming second graders joining the travel program. (All parents will be notified of team placements within the next week.)

Some HIGHLIGHTS of our travel season include:

2nd grade boys, both 3rd grade boys teams, and a 4th grade boys team were all undefeated!

5th grade boys and 6th grade boys made the playoffs!

7th grade boys and 8th grade boys both finished in first place and qualified for the Champions Cup Tournament!

Two of our most successful teams were led by women–Heather Urquhart’s 3rd grade team was undefeated and Mara Hahn’s 7th grade team finished first place and made it to the tournament! Our director of coaching, Chris Monteiro, is hoping to see a lot more women leaders in coming years, knowing that it is good for children of all genders to experience women leaders in partnership with men who have traditionally held these roles.

After a great series of tryouts, we are looking forward to another successful season this fall. Meanwhile, we wish you all a terrific summer!!

And if you didn’t already register for KidsAfrik’s Advanced Skills Soccer Camp, there is still time!
